i have recently met a man, here locally where i live. he seems like everything that
i have always hoped for in a man. we have yet to meet, taking it slowly
he is a taurus and i am sagittarius....what can you tell me about

The inherent wisdom of this question can be summed up in the fact that 2 people have met...and have yet to meet.
Relationship always begins from this reality...but we, as human beings, most often fail to realize this paradoxically simple and profoundly complex truth...until the complications begin to arise, as they must do in every genuine relationship.
Taking it slowly is all that can be done in terms of learning who the Other truly is. Each of us is such an immense complexity that there is no possible way to effectively intervene and speed up the process of learning. We can only be open to the fact that it IS a process...and be as alert and aware as possible as it unfolds.
Awareness is the key...as we all tend to prefer (and at times, demand) that the natural complications arising from the learning process simply never arise. Who someone seems to be is NEVER who they are...but who they really are is they only beautiful reality there can be. We only forget that when we're unaware...and unawareness is the only condition we need to struggle with. All other fights are a waste of precious time.
Starting from very broad questions and categories is an excellent way to initiate the process...and the querent has already covered the most basic...i.e. gender. Moving into Sun Signs is another basic categorization. A wealth of information concerning Types can be understood / learned from Sun Signs. Most astrology books can readily give this information...but it does tend to take a visit to an astrologer to help enliven the material that's closest to home.
Taurus is an introverted sign. Sagittarius is extraverted. Opposites attract, of course. When you begin to meet and meld, it might be best to have your extensive travel plans include places with lots of live music and outdoor cafes where the Feng Shui is such that Taurus feels comfortable and at home while you savor the foreign atmosphere.
