I am a civil service employee who has been given the opportunity to act a promoter for a musician I have admired for many years. I did a show for this person once before and it was very successful. This time I am handling 2 shows and things seem to be pointing in the direction where I may lose a large sum of money. The shows are in a few days. Will last minute sales be enough to pull me through?
The indications I have indicate success...but you must be very clear about the meaning of the word. In asking about last minute sales you seem to be asking for a sign that will bring you peace concerning this enterprise. I don't get the feeling that you're so concerned about prosperity here...and that is how it should be. Instead, you're worried about a loss of money...and although this is totally human...your concern is meant to go beyond the fear and learn the lesson involved. The fear is a major gift of this situation for your psyche.
The lesson concerns courage. You are involved in something that is feeding your soul. I'm sorry, but being a civil service employee can often be the farthest thing from soul that is possible...but this is not true for everyone. It's simply true that whether you are a university professor of classics or a postal worker...if you are in the wrong field in terms of personal enthusiasm, you may be earning a living, but in terms of soul, you're soon going to be dead in the water.
You can't ever expect a soulful enterprise to immediately become a winning lottery ticket. Feeding the soul takes time, effort, patience and yes...even cash...lots of it. Often, there are so many lessons to unlearn along with those that must be learned, that the tendency is to simply give up too soon. Adversity builds character, as long as it is not too demanding or oppressive. Fear builds courage as long as we're not annhilated in the process. The indications are not only that you won't be annhilated by this fear...but that the outcome is going to bring you the real gift of courage...if you'll only give up the measuring stick of ticket sales. The success is already assured because you've done something for Psyche and Soul. The next enterprise is going to demand even more of you. Once you get started on the path of Soul...turning back is where the real danger lies. That's really something to be afraid of.
